The Westmünsterland project is designed as a self-contained (stand-alone) large-scale battery storage system with a capacity of 10 MW – 40 MWh and will be built in close proximity to a substation. Through its direct connection to the power grid, the storage system contributes to grid stabilization, creates additional flexibility for the integration of renewable energies, and strengthens a future-proof energy infrastructure. With its storage capacity, the project makes a significant contribution to security of supply and the energy transition in the region.
